Have you ever wondered where Lara Croft gets her weapons from? It's not as if you can just go to the mall and purchase a new pair of 9mm Barretta handguns, or a silenced MP5 Submachine-gun, or much less a Rocket Launcher.
For most video game players, who are not enlisted in Law Enforcement or the Military (Special Forces no less), playing video games is the only way we can play out our fantasies of being an Elite Special Forces Soldier, or a Commander of an Emergency Response Team (ERT/SWAT), or a Top Government Spy/Enforcer, or even a gun-toting Archaeologist/Adventurer. |
But some people want more than that. They want to take something from that Fantasy World and bring it back with us into the Real World. Something solid, something they can hold and actually feel. In the case of Tomb Raider fans, many have taken rock climbing lessons, mountaineering courses, and even a new found interest in the study of ancient history and archaeology. And of course, let's not forget about the weapons. In her adventures, Lara Croft wields many deadly weapons some people would just love to get a hold of. But as mentioned earlier, it isn't that easy to purchase them, if at all possible. For many Tomb Raider game players, wielding these weapons is only possible through playing Lara Croft's adventures in the video games. Or is it?
