Tomb Raider Re-Imagined
"Tomb Raider Re-Imagined is not a remake of the first Tomb Raider game. It follows the same plot and uses the same assets but features completely different levels. It is build using the TR4 engine but modified in a way to resemble the original game as closely as possible. The PS1 version of the original game will be used as reference which means that the game will feature save crystals and other features exclusive to the PS1 version." - by AODfan
Imagine you are re-discovering Tomb Raider completely. It's what AODfan succeeded at doing here with this re-imagining of the original game. All the levels are re-built differently, the secrets are in different locations and it's a real pleasure to re-visit Peru (the rest of the locations will be available in the future) and all its memorable areas implemented differently.
If you're not a fan of save crystals, do not fear. The way AODfan implemented them doesn't feel frustrating at all and you shouldn't have problems saving your progress when really needed.
Before starting the adventure we highly recommend you to start by having a look at Lara's Home, that looks at first sight strictly identical to the original but reveals in fact some surprises. A hidden key allowing you to open the door to Lara's bedroom will lead you to Lara's wardrobe including a selection of 5 outfits (similar feature to the one used in Tomb Raider Legend & Anniversary) to use in the main game!
Core-Design.com Special Mention :
AODfan delivered a brilliant re-imagining of Tomb Raider here. We can hardly wait for the rest of the locations after enjoying Lara's Home and Peru.
